Cinnamon Walnut Rolls with Maple Cream Cheese Glaze
Soft, fluffy, and bursting with warm cinnamon flavor, these Cinnamon Walnut Rolls are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. Topped with a decadent maple cream cheese glaze, they’re a treat everyone will love.
Ingredients
For the Dough
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
For the Filling
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp BRY Foods ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts (optional, for crunch)
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened
For the Maple Glaze
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: 1 tsp rose water for a floral note
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Make the Dough
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and flour. Mix and knead until smooth (about 10 minutes).
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
2. Prepare the Filling
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick.
- Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Add chopped walnuts, if using.
3. Roll & Cut
- Roll the dough tightly from the long side.
- Cut into 10–12 rolls and place in a greased baking dish.
- Let rise for another 30–40 minutes until puffy.
4. Bake
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
5. Make the Glaze
Whisk together cream cheese, maple syrup, vanilla extract, rose water (if using), and a pinch of salt. Drizzle over warm rolls.
